Fishing through the Ice

The family went ice fishing this afternoon.  We were successful!  Eight fish will be fried for dinner.  Several gigantic bass were released, too!  We also had lunch on the ice - burgers.  Nothing better than a picnic at the lake in February!

For the Birds...

Shoveling is for the birds, but, unfortunately, the Director of Heat, General Well-Being, and Road Maintenance has been lifting, pushing, and lazer-eye melting the drifts since 7am this morning.  He has had some assistance from the Public at Large, but they need breaks frequently.  The Director of Heat, General Well-Being, and Road Maintenance has also been approaching the General Finance Council about a grant for additional winter removal strageties for future needs.  He has presented several proposals, including

1. additional heavy equipment and equipment storage locations
2. possible light vehicle sledding devices for snow removal avoidance
3. additional staff sourcing, including the Head of Housing, Fabric-Dirt Separation, and Environmetal Cleansing

So far, the winter removal avoidance efforts have been addressed with the following

• puzzles
• games
• electronic viewing
• body games
• pet rescue
• napping
• sleeping
• and eating and snacking

Busy Week

Wow!  What a busy week. 

Monday evening was GS and Cub Scouts.  The derby racers are in progress.  They all look very fast!

Tuesday was a blur.  The kids were home from school due to the blowing snow!

Wednesday was go-to-town night for pizza and the library, among other errands.

Thursday was pre-weigh-in day for the racers, then home for the final paint job.

Biggest Loser

It is now the new year.  The new year inevitably brings us to a place where we can begin again, start fresh, try something new.  I figure it's as good of a time as any to start THE BIGGEST LOSER competition.  My work has several healthy programs going on, but this percentage weight loss program uses a team approach.  For twelve weeks, my two teammates and I will work together to lose as much weight (in a healthy manner) as possible for a chance to win a cash prize.
